By taking the No. 30 bus from Papeete, Gare Maritime, at 12.30 (we could have left earlier) we got to Taravao in 1h45, travelling down the west coast. We returned to Papeete on a No. 31 bus at 15.00 travelling via the east coast in 1h25 (there’s another bus at 16.30). For a total of XPF400 each (less than £3), this was a real bargain tour of this beautiful island.
