Faaroa River Tour in Raiatea

The mouth of the Faaroa River is located on the east side of the island. On the morning of the expedition, you will go directly to the meeting point. A rental car or taxi would be useful, as the distances are too long to walk. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will explain the route, equipment, and safety instructions.

There are two ways to explore the Faaroa River in Raiatea: by kayak or stand-up paddleboard. In a kayak, you sit and use a double-bladed paddle for a smooth, stable glide along the water. On a paddleboard, you stand upright and use a single paddle, offering a higher vantage point to admire the surroundings. The Faaroa is the only navigable river in French Polynesia. From the starting pontoon, you will travel against the gentle current along the lush nature, with new surprises around every bend.
