Program and Itinerary

Pick Up at Your Accommodation in Moorea

You start with a pick-up at your accommodation from 9:00 am, within a radius of 20 km from the starting point. The tour starts at 9:30 am on a private beach at PK 33, on the Haapiti district side.

Excursion in Va'a

Under the wise advice of your guides, you are now aboard a Polynesian outrigger canoe. The va’a is the traditional and most popular sport in French Polynesia. You will enjoy the beauty of the lagoon while learning how to handle the pirogue and rapa (a specific oar for va’a). This physical activity is both technical and cultural, and takes place to the sound of “Hep” to mark the changes of pace.

Angling

Your guides are not only experienced rowers, they are also skilled fishermen. Fishing is a food and cultural activity that is still practiced daily by Polynesians. Many techniques exist and during your excursion, your guides will teach you angling. A fun outing guaranteed for the whole family!

Lunch on Private Beach

Fresh air and rowing whets the appetite and it’s time to recharge the batteries. A good typical Polynesian meal awaits you in a dream setting: back at the embarkation point, on your host’s private beach! Depending on the season, enjoy raw and fried fish, korori (pearl oyster muscle), local vegetable fries (uru, taro), po’e (fruit dessert), all accompanied by cold drinks (water, coconut water, beer, punch…).

Return to Your Hotel in Moorea

Your tour ends at 1:45 pm and, depending on the location of your accommodations, your guides will be able to drive you home. This authentic and family-oriented experience will undoubtedly be a memorable part of your Polynesian stay.

Cancellation Policy
