Program and Itinerary

Hiking in the Faanui Valley

Better known as the Valley of the Kings, this private guided hiking tour on Bora Bora departs from the Faanui church at around 8:30 am. You’ll pass through ancient sacred sites, immersed in dense vegetation. At the heart of the island, you’ll finally see a huge Pacific banyan tree, the tree of souls of Polynesian civilization. The trail is a 2,5-mile loop with a slight gradient. It’s a 3-4 hour walk, suitable for beginners.-

Hiking in the Matira Hills

The Matira hills offer breathtaking views of the world’s most beautiful lagoon. Departure from Bloody Mary’s around 8:30 am. You’ll reach the Verohti and Rufau mountains overlooking Matira Bay and its dream beach. Polynesian culture and relics of the Second World War are on the program. The route is a 2-mile loop with a moderate gradient. It’s a 4-hour hike requiring a beginner-intermediate level.

Choose Your Hike

The Valley of Faanui is a real immersion in ancient Polynesian civilization, the history of Bora Bora and the discovery of incredible vegetation. The themes covered are linked to local mythology and cultural heritage. It’s a quiet family outing. The Matira Hills are more challenging, requiring good physical condition. You’ll go to the Matira ridges to enjoy extraordinary views. This is the most accessible mountain hike on Bora Bora.

Transport From Your Accommodation

Transfers to and from your accommodation are not included. It is therefore necessary to arrange your own transport to and from your accommodation with the concierge at your hotel or the hosts at your guesthouse. Participants staying in motu hotels must also take the shuttle boat to the main island before taking a cab to the starting point of the hikes.

Weather conditions

These hikes can only take place in good weather. If it rains on the day (or the day before for the Matira hills), the excursion will be cancelled and a later date will be proposed if the availability of both parties allows it.

Availability Confirmation

Please note that we will first confirm the availability of your reservation before processing the payment. This means that you will not be charged immediately if you use a credit card, or that you will have to wait for confirmation before sending a payment by bank transfer. As soon as we have confirmed availability, we will inform you by e-mail. If there is no availability on the chosen date, we will contact you again to propose another date.

Deposit and Remaining Balance

When booking online, you will only need to pay a 15% deposit to confirm your tour. You can pay the balance later, either by bank transfer or when you are already in Bora Bora.

Cancellation Policy

Please note our booking cancellation policy. At the very least, tour cancellations incur a 15% booking fee. Less than 30 days before the tour date, a cancellation fee of 35% applies. Less than one week before the tour date, cancellation charges are 100%. If weather conditions prevent the tour from taking place, and only after confirmation from the guide, cancellation fees do not apply and a full refund will be given.
